Webinars & Videos

Our video resources enable you to engage with a range of interesting critical realists without leaving your desk.

  • The original Critical Realism Network projects hosted over twenty webinars with leading critical realists. Each webinar consists of a 35 minute lecture from the presenter followed by a Q&A session moderated by the Director of the network, Professor Phil Gorski.
  •  We now have the continuing Critical Realism Matters series of occasional webinars organised by the Centre for Critical Realism. New webinars are announced on the blog and published (along with all our other videos) on our YouTube channel.
  • The original project produced an excellent series of five short introductory videos about critical realism hosted by Katelin Albert. These are also available on the YouTube Channel. The individual videos cover:
  1. What is critical realism?
  2. What is a good explanation?
  3. Inference and Inquiry
  4. Social Structure
  5. Facts and values
