Interview with Professor Margaret Archer on the Morphogenetic Approach

Dr. Timothy Rutzou conducted an interview with Professor Margaret Archer (Sociology, University of Warwick) after the Causal Powers and Social Sciences Conference. In this interview, Archer discusses how she developed the morphogenetic approach as a critique of positivism from her early days as a scholar in empiricist dominated Great Britain, her sojourn to France, and her comparative work around the different education systems she encountered. From this experience Archer then explains why reflexivity became an important concept for her, and why reflexivity is such an important concept within sociology more broadly.
